Taitung Bridge Widening Project-Anti-Electric Shock by Invisible Infrared Electronic Fence
Below is the news that was happen in Hualien Taiwan Railway Project! (Dated August 18, 2022)
In addition to the 25,000 volt high voltage electricity of Taiwan Railway, there is also a general 11,000 volt residential electricity beside. It is seriously dangerous to have a heavy crane operations there. As long as the operators are not careful, an electric shock accident will occur immediately. Is there any other way to remind the operators to reduce the accident of electric shock?
Here is a case to share, below is Taitung bridge widening project for your reference. The detection distance is more than 350 meters, and there is a high-voltage power tower next to it. (Taiwan high transmission voltage is: 69kV, 161kV, 345kV, frequency 60Hz).
In order to prevent the crane from getting electric shock, it is necessary to install an electronic fence. As long as it is too close to the high-voltage power line, an alarm will be reminded immediately.
However, there are several issues to overcome here:
1. The width of the river is 350 meters
2. High voltage electromagnetic interference
3. Stability confirmation
In this case, we directly advised 4PB-200AD advanced quad beam infrared detector to overcome these difficulties. The farthest detection distance of Sengate infrared electronic fence is only 250 meters. 350 meters is actually quite a challenge in this project. But In fact, Sengate infrared beams can reach 10 times the detection distance under ideal conditions!!

In fact, when we installed Sengate beams in a 5-meter-high telephone pole, even at a distance of 350 meters, it is still easily to align the beams and the infrared intensity is also at an excellent performance. Sengate’s exclusive RF-217 beams alignment device, can easily align the beams very easily by one person, and the alignment performance has a digital data to check.
As shown in the picture above, the infrared intensity is 0.738v (normal working is at 0.3v above), it can work no problems even in the heavy rain.
Sengate’s advanced infrared beams can resist the interference of high-voltage electricity and show its stability.
Originally, the project owner used a china-made laser infrared with a detection distance of 500 meters, but false alarms continued.
Later, when Sengate beams were installed, the project owner's troubles are successfully solved.
